History of Jumbles Sailing Club Jumbles Sailing Club was formed in 1975 as a division of the Civil Service Sailing Association (CSSA) whose parent body is the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC). The CSSC lease the waters of Jumbles reservoir for sailing and also approximately ½ hectare of land as a shore location from the landowner United Utilities. Jumbles reservoir and its surrounding woodland are designated a country park. The existing clubhouse was built in 1981 providing toilets, changing rooms, kitchen and dining/saloon areas. Membership initially was only open to members of the CSSC/CSSA, however, it was decided that this facility should be made available to the community at large and the membership rules were relaxed to welcome non-CSSC members and their families. In November 2009 a major new club-house extension project was started to provide a new rescue boat storage area and brand new changing facilities for members. These new changing rooms will allow refurbishment of parts of te old club-house to allow provision of disabled facilities to help make the club more inclusive.
